As most of my follwers know I have been treated for Breast Cancer and have been treated with a hormone based chemotherapy. I was beginning to lose some of my hair. Not all but enough that I had to have most of it cut off. So it being winter and cold here in New England I wanted to make scarves and head wraps to cover my head to keep me warm. So I called upon my friends at Island Batik for some fabric. I was willing to pay whatever the cost but low and behold Katie Laughridge sent me all of this beautiful fabric to make what I needed to make my scarves. I have been incredibly blessed to have the friends I have. I have gotten some lucious meals, fabric and even hats from my friends. All of who have incredibly busy lives and took time out to help me out.
In addition to the beautiful items above I got a happy mail package yesterday from one of my dearest friends from Generation Q Magazine. She made me a hat, a scarf and a beutiful head wrap. These are just so beautiful and I love all of them.
My friend Melinda Bula also knitted me a very warm adorable hat.
So I seem to be covered by so many.
Many know I have a specil place in my heart when it comes to these folks as they have had my back in the quilting industry. It's been a long rough road at times. However life aside of this minor hump is quite good. I have quilting customers and want more. I have designed quilt patterns have been published in major magazines and have won awards and ribbons for my work. I also have become more involved in my teaching. I became a Certified Instructor for Sulky Thread of America.
Kelly Nagel and her crew have been so awesome to me I cannot thank them enough.
I have gotten back to some designing and pattern writing and I have a few things that I need to keep secret in the works. So stay tuned for some good news coming down the pike.
One of the things I have been wrking on that I can share is designing a Mystery Quilt-Along. I would love to hear from you and who would and wouldn't like to join in a mystery quilt along. So if you interested please make a comment on this blog post. If I get aleast ten people involved I will continue with the MQA (Mystery Quilt Along). I hope I hear from you all.
