So after a few days of doing family stuff, some chill time and the usual housekeeping that needed to be done I decided to play and make this folded wreath designed by Kristine Poor from www.poorhousequiltdesigns.com This design is called Fold'n Stitch Blooms.
I wanted to use fabrics that were bright and fun so I used some I got from a friends shop during my spring retreat. This line of fabric is by Kaffe Fassett called Shell Bouquet by Free Spirit. and some other fabrics from Kaffe who is an incredibly talented designer. All of his fabrics always catch my eye with their beauty.
I used this folded wreath for my pub table to use with my candle to dress things up. As I was considering the construction of this wreath I used Sulky white thread as well as some of Sulky's Rayon thread for sewing a design element on each of the hexagons. I used my Janome 8900 and chose a decorative element to minic the hexagons.
Thank you Sulky for providing me the rayon thread for this and my other projects. It sews up so nicely.
A view from what the backing fabric looks like.
And here is the top photo:
And it wouldn't be complete without the piece de' resisteance
And what would my projects be like if I didn't have a little bit of fun with them. So I decided to show my neighbor who has a dachshund. She is the cutest pooch going, and styles this wreath with the utmost finesse:
The things you can do with smart phones. Gotta love this pooch.
I hope you like what you see I thought I would do some fun stuff. Leave a comment below and let me know what you think... #ilovedogs #ilovesulkythread # ilovemycapecodlife #quiltologistreasures
